How Long Does Cosmetic Contouring Take?
Cosmetic contouring is a relatively quick procedure, a single tooth takes up to 10 minutes. You may be combining this with other treatments, in which case it may take longer.
Is cosmetic contouring painful?
Cosmetic contouring is completely painless and non-invasive. This means that you won’t need anaesthetic. After contouring is complete the teeth are polished and fluoride is applied.
How soon after cosmetic contouring can I can eat or drink?
Immediately, you can eat and drink as normal after contouring. We advise you to follow a good oral health routine to maintain the health of your teeth and gums and to maintain the results of your treatment.
- Make sure you brush at least twice a day
- Ensure you floss daily before brushing your teeth
- Avoid sugary foods and drinks Avoid drinking large amounts of tea, coffee and red wine to prevent staining

Is cosmetic contouring the right solution for me?
Cosmetic contouring is a perfect solution for minor cosmetic repairs such as teeth that are slightly misshapen or slightly too long. If your teeth are very crooked or misshapen, we would perhaps recommend teeth straightening, veneers or cosmetic bonding as an alternative.
