6 Signs You Should Invest in Teeth Straightening

6 Signs You Should Invest in Teeth Straightening

Since beginning my journey in Dentistry, I have always had a passion for teeth straightening treatments.  If my experience has taught me anything, it’s that there are 6 common signs which suggest it’s time to consider treatment!

The unspoken language of smiling has often been regarded as being universally understood, this is why I believe it’s crucial to offer multiple treatments to my patient’s to suit their lifestyle; allowing the process to be as comfortable and adjustable as possible.

Several recent studies have revealed that the well-being of patients correlates to how often you smile. I’ve listed the top 6 signs that suggest you should invest in a teeth straightening treatment. From refined confidence to easy eating, my patients often note an improvement within one of the following 6 issues. If you experience any of the following difficulties, book your complimentary consultation today.

1) You’re Happy, But Not Smiling.

3, 2, 1, say cheese!

Have you ever found yourself half smiling or quickly closing your mouth just before a picture is taken? Or even hiding your smile all together?

Well, a recent study completed by Hewlett Packard Medical Division, focussed on the stimulation we receive when we see a smile, the results showed participants to experience the “same level of stimulation as they would have had from eating 2,000 chocolate bars or receiving £16,000 in cash.” I’d personally prefer the chocolate!

2) Lacking In Confidence

As a professional who often meets new people, I know confidence is key to appearing relaxed and capable. Lacking in personal confidence is both common and difficult as insecurities surrounding your smile can be perceived as being hesitant.

Multiple studies have shown patient’s confidence to grow substantially after treatment. That’s why we at Bright and White Dental Spa aim to give you the perfect smile, so you can smile until your cheeks hurt.

3) Bad Oral Health

Bad breath is often blamed on a lazy oral hygiene routine, yet what most patients don’t realise is that bad breath can often be a resulting symptom of a crowded mouth. A straighter smile means that your roots and gums are far easier to reach and clean.

According to a study completed by the University of Manchester’s School of Dentistry, undergoing our treatments could be one of your most important decisions you can make.

Dr. Rajesh Vijayanarayanan, the honorary clinical teaching fellow at the University of Manchester, led the study which revealed adults without a confident straight smile exhibited a disposition towards stress as opposed to those with a straighter smile. If you struggle with bad breath, get your complimentary consultation to find out if we can help.

He stated, “our research suggests that oral health changes, such as tooth loss, can have a profound effect on a patient’s quality of life.” As a result of straightening treatments, teeth are both easier to clean and less likely to fall out.

4) Looking for Love

As highlighted above smiling can positively affect your outlook on life, improve social mobility and even reduce depression and anxiety.

With the recent rise of dating sites and apps such as eHarmony, Plenty of Fish and even, dare I say it, Tinder. It has also become important to confidently show your eye-catching smile. A great smile not only stimulates the mind more than chocolate and money, it also helps you to appear trustworthy.

5) Eating in Public

Are you consciously aware of how you chew food in public?

Uneven, crooked or overbite prone teeth can result in an uncomfortable eating experience as chewing solid foods can be painful or require an open mouth to chew.

Being forced to eat with your mouth open is an experience no one should have to endure, especially if you attend lunch meetings or often dine with a special someone.

By undergoing our treatments, you can align your bite, meaning a comfortable eating experience.

6) Keep your teeth for life

Not only do you improve oral health and your smile, you also improve the potential lifespan of each individual tooth as the treatments repair twisted, rotated or crowded areas of your mouth. This is known as Malocclusion.

Malocclusion can often lead to serious oral health complications, symptoms include:

  • Alteration of facial appearance
  • Difficulty chewing
  • Catching your cheeks whilst chewing
  • Speech impediments
  • Breathing through your mouth instead of your nose

The extensive treatments we offer here at Bright and White Dental Spa help reposition and organize the crowded areas of your mouth, this improves both your quality of life and oral health as you are likely to retain your smile for a longer period.

Here at Bright and White Dental Spa, we’ve organized our clinic to cater to your schedule, opening until 9 pm making it easier for you to fit treatments around work.
